For this reason, I bought the iPad version of the app because I figured I could sync my tex files on my iPad and mac using their Texpad connect. The mac version of Texpad is stylistically very pleasing. Hopefully it will come with new versions of iOS. It seems the Dropbox issue is out of their hands.

The recent update made it possible to link folders in iCloud, but not Dropbox.If the app had full Dropbox integration, I would definitely give it 5 stars.UPDATE: I got a reply from the developer. I don’t want to have to move them all into the app folder - also because the contain many other documents (graphics, excel files etc.). I have hundreds of projects that include LaTeX. You can only access one specific app folder.

On an 9.7” iPad the display is a little too small to take full advantage of it, but on the 12.9” and 11” Pro this should be really great.BUT, as many reviewers has remarked, the Dropbox integration is poor (and I did not realize this before buying). This makes writing LaTeX much more intuitive and interactive.

As you write an equation (and other LaTeX) you can see it typeset in real time in the pdf file. This app makes writing LaTeX on iPad a breeze. Unfortunately, I do not know of a competently written option. In all, my recommendation is to give up on this program. The same problems continue, some of them have become worse. Several times the promise was made that my problems would be resolved when version 1.8 came out. I recently looked through the email trail, it is impressively bad. I have tried, many many times, to get support for the freezing issues. This was useless, an email account was set up, and when I asked what might have been meant, there was never a response. Support told me that I needed to have an email account set up on the iPad. On neither iPad have I been able to email my files. pdf images, and a recurrent inability to scroll through the document. On the current iPad, the freezing continues, and now it is compounded by flickering of the. On the previous iPad, the program would systematically freeze, an error message would pop up far too quickly to be read, and the program would not respond to the keypad, sometimes for as much as 5 seconds. However, this one has never worked well on either of my two iPads. Finding a program that would work on an iPad seemed genius. I have been using LaTeX for decades now, happily writing math intensive papers. May I advise a bit of cooperation and integration between these two really great tools, if possible ? Thanks !!! So I am still full of respect and admiration towards all these apps and all that is unfolding, and keep the five stars. I know these things can be quite a bit tricky, from having myself tinkered with apps in the past. If I dare to try to “open into” directly into TexPad, then it opens a new file, which I clearly do not need (and it also forgets where it had an already open file from - I had to quit TexPad and to restart). So I don’t know who is to blame (my app writing skills are not very extensive, but I am a Computer Scientist, having been working with various other stuff, practical and theoretical, for almost for 30 years). If then, right away, I select the text from Notes, copy and then paste into TexPad, it does not happen either. Of course, if I try say with Notes, this does not happen.
That’s right: hand-write say x+y, say Export,Copy and then go into TexPad and say Paste - you receive x+yx+y ! Now that is quite burdensome. However, after paying to unlock the export and then trying the export copy feature (to have the TeX land in my TexPad app, another awesome and impressive tool), I was surprised to consistently see double the amount of necessary text. The app is awesome, the idea is great, the handwriting recognition is impressive.
